Chennai: A Congress leader in Tamil Nadu has threatened to cut off the tongue of the judge who sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in jail in a defamation case if the party comes to power. The Congress leader has said that the tongue of the judge who convicted Rahul Gandhi in a 2019 criminal defamation case and sentenced him to two years in prison will be cut off. Now a case has been registered against the Congress leader regarding this remark.

As per reports, the SC/ST wing of the Congress was protesting the disqualification of its leader Rahul Gandhi in Tamil Nadu's Dindigul. During this, the district head of the party, Manikandan, said, 'On March 23, the judge of the Surat court sentenced our leader Rahul Gandhi to two years in jail. Listen, Justice H. Verma, when Congress comes to power, we will cut off your tongue. A case has been registered against Manikandan under 3 sections, and an investigation has been started by Dindigul Police. Last year, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was convicted in a 2019 criminal defamation case over his "Modi surname" remark at a rally. The Surat court sentenced Rahul to two years in jail.

Following the conviction by the Surat Court, as per the 2013 order of the Supreme Court, Rahul Gandhi's Lok Sabha membership was cancelled. All the opposition parties have been continuously attacking the central government since Rahul Gandhi's election. Politicians of many parties have come out in support of Rahul Gandhi regarding this matter and are targeting the central government.

Let us inform you that earlier, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari had given a controversial statement regarding the Rahul Gandhi case. He had said that there should be a separate law for Rahul Gandhi's family. He had said that, before sentencing Rahul Gandhi, the judge should look at the martyrdom of two prime ministers (Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi), Rahul Gandhi being a parliamentarian, committing a crime for the first time, and having no criminal history, from a different legal point of view.
