New Delhi: The situation has worsened since the violence that started during Durga Puja in Bangladesh. There are constant attacks on minority Hindus. Congress leader Milind Deora has supported the Civil Amendment Act (CAA). He has said that the growing communal violence in Bangladesh is extremely alarming. The CAA should be changed to protect and rehabilitate Bangladeshi Hindus fleeing religious persecution.

He also said that India should reject and thwart any communal attempt to match Indian Muslims with Bangladeshi Islamists. Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has expressed concern over the situation of Hindus in Bangladesh. She said that the Durga Puja celebrations attacked, ISKCON temple attacked, targeted attacks on homes of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Not even a word of concern from the government of India. Where is the much-touted CAA?

On the other hand, the US has also condemned attacks by Islamic fundamentalists on Hindus in Bangladesh. A spokesman for the U.S. State Department said, 'Religious freedom and belief in human rights. Everyone in the world should feel safe and celebrate their festivals, regardless of their religious identity and faith.' He further said, 'The US State Department condemns attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh.'
