New Delhi: Congress veteran and former Union Minister P Chidambaram has said that Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's claim that no land of India is occupied. Congress leader said that the Indian security agencies have also assessed that the Chinese army is still crossing the Line of Actual Control (LAC) within 1.5 kilometres towards India.

P. Chidambaram accused that the central government continued to claim that no one had taken possession of our land, but this rhetoric proved to be mere gossip. Chidambaram tweeted "Indian security agencies have assessed that Chinese troops are still in the Indian territory of the LAC up to 1.5 km (as per the perception of India). In May, Chinese troops deployed our LAC Had infiltrated for 5 kilometres on the side."

The former finance minister further said that the government's claim that no one has encroached upon the territory of India was blatant rhetoric. Rajnath Singh had also said that no one can touch even one inch of the land of India, it was even more rhetoric. Chidambaram said that when the central government does not accept the fact, it will be difficult to achieve the status quo of the past.
