In the year 2018, Irrfan Khan was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour and was undergoing treatment in London. He returned to India after his health improved. Irrfan Khan's mother Saeeda Begum had died in Jaipur at the age of 95 and after hearing this news, Irrfan's health also started getting worse. Irrfan Khan was unable to attend his mother's last darshan due to the lockdown and he could not attend his mother's funeral.
