New Delhi: Issues like preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and reforms in the organisation at the Congress' Chintan Shivir may be part of the discussion mainly. But there is also a possibility of a big churning over the post of the party's national president. It is reported that senior leaders of the party have again demanded that Rahul Gandhi should be given the command of the party. At the same time, it is also being said that Rahul himself seems to be ready to consider the post.

According to the media report, in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting held on March 14, senior leaders had demanded that Rahul should become the national president. Media reports quoting sources said that senior party leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has told the Wayanad MP that he should accept the president's post. According to the report, sources have said, "Rahul is ready to consider the post. After this, the proposal to hold elections for the president in August-September came up in the meeting. However, it has been decided that the ongoing process cannot be done earlier.''

After the humiliating defeat of the Congress in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi resigned from the post of president. After this, Sonia Gandhi became the working president of the party. According to the report, there are chances that brainstorming and important decisions can be taken about the Congress president at the Chintan Shivir to be held in Udaipur. A section of the party is constantly demanding a change in leadership.
