New Delhi: Goa MLA Sankalp Amonkar, who recently joined the BJP, on Friday (September 16, 2022) accused Congress veterans of selling posts and tickets during the Assembly elections held in February this year. Amonkar is among the eight Goa Congress MLAs who joined the BJP on September 14, 2022.

During a press conference, MLA Sankalp Amonkar accused the All India Congress Committee (AICC) Goa's desk in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao of selling tickets for 12 assembly constituencies to rich persons. He said the party had sold election tickets for crores of rupees. He further said that even the post of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee chief and Congress Legislature Party chief has been sold by party leaders. Those who were new to the party were offered these posts after taking money. The deal was done in my presence. He said that Congress national general secretary KC Venugopal was also fully aware of this.

Making serious allegations against the Gandhi family, Sankalp Amonkar said, ''They want the Congress President to be a rubber stamp. They want someone else to take responsibility and accountability for the failures of the Congress. When Dr Manmohan Singh was made the PM, he did too. The entire government was run by the Gandhi family.''
