Mumbai: Congress Rajya Sabha member Rajiv Satava, who was infected with corona virus, has passed away. Randeep Surjewala tweeted about the same. In fact, he was battling against infection and his condition remained critical. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope had informed this last Saturday.

 

 

"Satava was recovering slowly, but his health deteriorated again and now his condition remains critical", he had told reporters in Jalna in a statement. Doctors have learnt that he has become infected with cytomegalovirus. Experts are being consulted in the matter. Rajiv Satava has now passed away under the information received. Rajiv Satava was considered close to former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and was found infected with corona virus on April 22. At that time, Satava had said that "After having mild symptoms, i underwent an examination which revealed that I was infected with the corona. People who have come in contact with me in recent times have to follow the security protocol".

He was then admitted to Jahangir Hospital in Pune where he was on ventilator. Let me tell all of you that before Rajiv Satava, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Deputy Congress leader in Rajya Sabha Anand Sharma, party chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, senior leaders Digvijay Singh, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, Shashi Tharoor and Bhupendra Singh Hooda have also been found infected with corona.
