New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to rescue Indian students trapped there amid Russia's attack on Ukraine. He said that foreign policy should be like this. In fact, an all-party meeting was called on Thursday (3 March 2022) by the Ministry of External Affairs under the leadership of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to evacuate students from Ukraine. It included former Congress presidents Rahul Gandhi and Shashi Tharoor as well as leaders of various parties.

After this meeting, Tharoor said that Jaishankar gave clear answers to the questions and concerns of the opposition parties in the all-party meeting of the Consultative Committee on Foreign Affairs on Ukraine. Thanking the External Affairs Minister for this, Tharoor praised the foreign policy of the Modi government. He said that the foreign policy of the country should go at this speed. Tharoor said that the parties and the opposition get united under the 'India First Policy' on issues of national interest. At the same time, Congress MPs supported India's policy of abstaining from voting on the censure motion against Russia in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

At the same time, Rahul Gandhi raised the issue of China and Pakistan in this meeting. He said that both these countries are coming closer to Russia, but right now the priority of the country is to evacuate the students from Ukraine. He also said that the response was delayed and the advisory was confusing. Now there is a need to work together in this crisis.
