Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Congress has sacked four office bearers, including the district president of Balrampur, for six years from the party on charges of indiscipline. It is being said that the party has taken action against Balrampur Congress President Anuj Singh, District Vice-President Akhtar Hussain, District General Secretary Vinay Mishra and Seva Dal President Deepak Mishra.
It is alleged that on February 4, in the wake of the party's meeting at the VIP guest house in Shravasti, national secretary Satyanarayan Patel was abused by the four office bearers and tried to assault her. On reaching the state office of Congress, the disciplinary committee acted and dismissed these persons for a period of six years, removing them from all party posts.
On the other hand, when asked about the matter, Balrampur Congress district president Anuj Singh said, "I have been a disciplined serviceperson of the party for 30 years. All the allegations against me are baseless. There were no beatings but there were some people who were committing indecency, which was tried to be saved.'' The Congress corporator said he has put forth his point on the party forum and will also present his side of the story before the party's national president Sonia Gandhi. It is being said that the meeting was going on at the VIP guest house in Balrampur regarding ticket distribution. Apart from Congress national secretary Satyanarayan Patel, the four criminals were present there. In a dispute over ticket distribution, the Balrampur Congress president along with three other office bearers misbehaved with Patel and then assaulted him. Satyanarayan Patel has been a two-time MLA from Indore city of MP. At the same time, he is considered close to Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
