New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday presented a report card on the Modi government's performance during the last eight years, naming it "eight years, eight bluffs." In its report card, Congress cites inflation, unemployment, economic mismanagement, and national security as major government failures, claiming that the BJP's promised "Acche din" is nowhere in sight and that people are simply enduring hardship.

People are feeling the pinch now, according to Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala and Ajay Maken, who released the pamphlet 'Aath saal, Aath chhal.' "During the 2014 elections, Modi promised that good days would come, but people are still waiting," they claimed.

"This government has benefited mainly the BJP and a few industrialists," Maken stated. Surjewala enquired as to why communal violence is on the rise.

Inflation is at an all-time high and the economy is in shambles,  Congress alleged, . "The BJP's terrible policies contributed to the devastating slide of the Indian economy one after another." Because of the BJP's 8 years of misgovernance, what was once the fastest expanding economy is now in shambles. The BJP government is shattering all records when it comes to deceiving its own people. First, by artificially inflating petrol and diesel costs by raising excise duty and then lowering it to portray itself as a pro-people government. "Are these the 'achhe din' you've been waiting for?" the booklet said.

It also slammed the administration over national security concerns and questioned Chinese border encroachment. "Through the BJP's eight years in power, our country's sovereignty and security have been repeatedly threatened."
