New Delhi: The Congress has again attacked the Modi government regarding the PM Cares Fund. Party's national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has raised questions on the PM Cares Fund citing a news report. Surjewala said that it is "anti-national" to question the PM Cares Fund. In a tweet, Surjewala said that the ventilators purchased by public funds are failing and advance payments are being made in crores. The top court has also not asked for CAG audit?

Congress has been constantly raising questions about the PM Cares Fund. Recently, the apex court refused to order the transfer of the money deposited in the PM Cares Fund to the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF). The apex court had said in its judgment that the PM Cares Fund is also a charity fund. Any person or organization can donate money to NDRF. During the hearing, the central government defended the PM CARES fund in the apex court.

During the difficult times of Corona, a public charitable trust named 'Prime Minister's Civil Assistance and Relief Fund (PM Cares Fund) was formed to deal with emergencies. Indians living in India and abroad have been requested to donate to this fund. This fund was created for the economic assistance of the affected people during the natural disaster or any other crisis.
