Congress recently said, ''India is no longer regarded as a democracy, and instead, it is labelled as a ''electoral autocracy." In fact, the Congress Working Committee said, "India is no longer considered a democracy, it has earned the label of electoral autocracy. Parliament has been contemptuous. The judiciary has been weakened by not filling up vacant posts in courts and tribunals.''

At the same time, Congress has called upon all democratic parties to join hands to strongly oppose the Modi government. In fact, Congress said, "We do this and call upon all democratic parties and forces to strongly oppose the Modi government to protect the values of the establishment of our country and to advance the interests of the people."

He said, "attacks on democratic institutions fulfil the sad and shameless narrative of the Modi government". At the same time, it has been claimed that there has been a threat of politeness to the media through raids and false cases.'' In fact, a resolution adopted by the CWC alleges that "non-governmental organisations (NGO) have been threatened and their welfare activities have been stopped. Government agencies have been widely misused to suppress the voice of the people.''
