Gwalior: Amidst the Madhya Pradesh elections, senior Congress party leaders have initiated a campaign against Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who recently left Congress to join the BJP. Congress leader Raj Babbar, in a press conference in Gwalior, declared that if Congress comes to power in Madhya Pradesh, Scindia's palace will be transformed into a public space, specifically a chowpatty, allowing common people to visit and enjoy the palace.

Expressing disappointment, Digvijay Singh, another Congress leader, remarked that he did not anticipate Scindia's betrayal and defection to the BJP. Singh recalled the historical contributions of the Scindia family to the Congress party, stating that both the late Madhavrao Scindia and Jyotiraditya Scindia were given significant roles within the Congress.

Raj Babbar further addressed the need for development in Gwalior, emphasizing that tourism could be a key aspect. He noted that if Congress comes to power, there would be efforts to promote tourism, and Scindia's palace would be a central attraction for the public.

Babbar stated, "The poor have not seen palaces. When tourism is promoted under the Congress government, people will also visit the palace, as it belongs to the people of Gwalior. Therefore, the public will visit the palace and enjoy street food there. Scindia has enjoyed a lot, but now the public will enjoy."

In response, Jyotiraditya Scindia countered Digvijay Singh's statements, highlighting the improvements made during his tenure in Madhya Pradesh. He noted that the pre-2003 government was labeled "Bantadhar," with no infrastructure development, lack of roads, electricity, and water supply. Scindia defended his decision to leave the Congress, emphasizing the changes he witnessed and contributed to during his years of service to the people.
