New Delhi: Governments in other states seem to be quite active in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. After the Congress governments in Punjab and Chhattisgarh announced Rs 50 lakh each to the families of farmers killed in Lakhimpur, the Punjab minister also said that the State Congress will leave for Lakhimpur on Thursday with a convoy of 10,000 vehicles.

Meanwhile, veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat is leaving Ramnagar in Uttarakhand on Thursday morning for Lakhimpur Kheri with a convoy of 1000 trains. In Punjab, Charanjit Singh Channi, minister in the cabinet, Pargat Singh said that the Punjab government and the Punjab Congress stand firmly with the victims of Lakhimpur Kheri. Punjab Congress will leave for Lakhimpur Kheri tomorrow on October 7 with a convoy of 10,000 vehicles. All will gather at airport chowk.

Earlier, the Punjab and Chhattisgarh governments have announced Rs 50 lakh each to the families of farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri violence. The governments of both the states have also asked for Rs 50 lakh each to the next of kin of the journalist killed during the coverage of the incident. However, the congress' plan to travel to Lakhimpur with a huge convoy of 10,000 vehicles has condolences to the victims, or an attempt to gain political mileage is a big question. Because, such a huge convoy is taken to rallies, gathering such a crowd at a victim's house can upset him more than console him.
