Udham Singh Nagar: Politics has intensified after a case was registered against former minister Tilak Raj Behar for violating the rules of lockdown in Uttarakhand government. Congress leaders across the state have sat on a dharna, accusing the police of bias. Former CM Harish Rawat, Congress state president Pritam Singh and leader of opposition Dr Indira Hridayesh have supported this strike.
According to the information, on the night of May 4, there was a shootout in a dispute between two sides in the village. After this, the police had registered a case against seven accused. On this matter, on Tuesday, the former minister was going to meet people in Behad village, but the police stopped him. Along with this, the police also registered a case against him for violating the lockdown.
Angered by this action, former Health Minister Tilak Raj Behar has sat on a dharna outside the police station. They allege that the police have come under political pressure and have filed a case against them. While on the night of the incident, he was going to inquire of the injured in his village and to pacify the villagers.
