Rahul Gandhi states on the demise of journalist Gauri Lankesh.

Gauri Lankesh murder: The Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday spoke on the death of the Veteran journalist Gauri Lankesh.

While talking to the media the 47-year-old said: "Anybody who speaks against the ideology of the BJP-RSS is pressured, beaten, attacked and even killed."

"I spoke to the Karnataka Chief Minister and mentioned that people who did this must be caught and punished," Congress Vice President Gandhi mentioned.

"It is very sad that a journalist against fanaticism was killed. The entire country is with her. Truth cannot be suppressed," Rahul Gandhi added.

Yesterday around 8 PM the Kannada journalist activist at her residence in Bengaluru's Rajarajeshwari Nagar was shot dead by some unidentified assailants. The investigation is being done after which only the reason behind shooting her will be known. Gauri Lankesh was the editor of a weekly Kannada tabloid magazine Lankesh Patrike.
