The country's national party Congress has termed the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 as anti-constitution. State Congress President Ajay Kumar Lallu said that through this bill, the government is preparing to replace the Constitution of India and bring the RSS legislation. Congressmen staged a protest in Lucknow on Tuesday and burnt copies of it. He said that there will be a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill on Wednesday as well and copies will be lit.

He said that the BJP wants to implement the Sangh legislation in the country, but the dream of the Sangh Parivar will never be fulfilled. Among the protesters were Congress Legislature Party leader Aradhana Mishra 'Mona', former MLA Shyamkishore Shukla, former ministers RK Chaudhary, Virendra Madan, Manoj Yadav, Omkaranath Singh, Maroof Khan, Arshi Raza, Vinod Mishra, Gaurav Chaudhary among many others.
