Srinagar: Before the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House, sharp and critical reactions are being given by many leaders of many opposition parties. Even, 20 opposition parties have announced to boycott the inauguration program of the new Parliament House. Meanwhile, National Conference (NC) leader and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah expressed his opinion on the matter on Friday, which is completely opposite to all the leaders of the opposition parties.

According to media reports, Omar Abdullah said, 'The new Parliament building is welcome and it looks grand.' Let us tell you that, Abdullah has made this comment at a time when 20 opposition parties including his party National Conference (NC) have announced to boycott the inauguration program of the new Parliament House. Abdullah said that when he was a Lok Sabha MP, many of his colleagues used to often discuss the need for a new and better Parliament building.

In a tweet, Abdullah said, 'Let's keep the political ruckus about its inauguration aside for a few moments. It (the new Parliament House) is welcome. The old Parliament House has been an excellent contribution, but as someone who worked there for a few years, many of us often talked among ourselves about the need for a new and better Parliament House.' Omar Abdullah further said, 'Better late than never, and this new Parliament building looks grand.'

Let us tell you that 20 opposition parties, including Congress, Left, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party and Aam Aadmi Party, announced on Wednesday (May 24) that they would boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament House by PM Narendra Modi.  Among the signatories to the joint letter of the opposition parties, the National Conference, that is, Abdullah's party, is also included. But, now Omar Abdullah has expressed a different opinion from his party and 19 opposition parties, which may shock many parties including the Congress.
