New Delhi: A meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) has been convened today amid the congress collapse. The meeting is expected to discuss upcoming elections and changes at the organizational level. The meeting of the CWC will be held at the party headquarters in New Delhi today. According to Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, the upcoming assembly elections, as well as organisational elections, will be discussed in the meeting.

According to reports, the party high command along with all senior Congress leaders will chalk out its strategy in view of the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur assembly. The meeting, which will be offline for the first time in 18 months, will also discuss the current political situation. The meeting is likely to focus on further strategy on the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.

Several Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had rushed to meet the families of the victims who were initially stopped by the Uttar Pradesh police. Congress has been consistently demanding the dismissal of Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra and an inquiry into the incident under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
