Congress working On expansion of Punjab Cabinet after Charanjit Singh Channi become CM

Amritsar: The Congress is gearing up to form a cabinet after changing the CM in Punjab. Many ministers in Captain Amarinder Singh's cabinet may be discharged, while many young faces may find a place in the cabinet of new CM Charanjeet Singh Channi. Punjab is going to go to assembly elections after four months, in view of which, the Congress will now try to strike a regional and ethnic balance through the cabinet after giving Dalit CM.

Charanjeet Singh Channi was sworn in as CM on Monday after Captain Amarinder Singh resigned. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni along with Channi were sworn in as cabinet ministers who have been appointed deputy CM. Now CM Charanjeet Singh Channi is trying to form the cabinet. Cm Charanjeet Singh Channi and both deputy CMs are coming to the national capital by chartered plane over the new cabinet, where they will brainstorm with Harish Rawat and other Congress leaders.

Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will be consulted on video conference for a final decision after discussing the cabinet expansion as both the leaders are in Shimla. It is being reported that the new cabinet will be formed soon. There is also a demand in the Congress that no leader above the age of 75 will be inducted into the cabinet.
