Mumbai: Amid the ongoing political turmoil in Maharashtra, Union Minister and BJP leader Piyush Goyal's statement came to the fore on Friday. Piyush Goyal termed the alliance of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress in Maharashtra as unholy and said that its break-up was certain. Goyal said he had never seen such a bankruptcy of ideology as has been seen in Maharashtra.

Addressing an event in Delhi, Piyush Goyal said, "The collapse of the unholy alliance was certain. A video of Balasaheb Thackeray is going viral on social media, in which Balasaheb is saying that instead of forging an alliance with the Congress, he would prefer to dissolve the party (Shiv Sena). I have never seen such bankruptcy of ideology in Maharashtra. Piyush Goyal further said that the three friends who hated each other are suddenly seeing virtues in them and they have seen a completely immoral, corrupt government in the last two and a half years.

On the other hand, Uddhav Thackeray and Shiv Sena have suffered another setback. Another MLA of the party has joined the camp of rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde, a minister in the state government. Shinde's office on Friday released a video here in which MLA Dilip Lande is seen entering a luxury hotel in Guwahati. Rebel Shiv Sena MLAs led by Shinde have been camping in the hotel for the past few days.
