Srinagar: Security forces in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir made significant last-minute changes in the program of the G-20 Tourism Working Group conference due to security reasons. In fact, intelligence inputs were received that terrorist organizations have planned to repeat 26/11-like attack during G-20 in Gulmarg. According to media reports, sources have informed that this conspiracy was hatched on the instructions of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. The changes were made after it was revealed that an over-ground worker (OGW) employed at the posh hotel was detained.

Security has been further strengthened around the G-20 venue as a precautionary measure. Meanwhile, the Kashmir Police has also taken action against the rumors being spread about the G-20 meeting in the valley. In this regard, a public advisory has been issued against some suspicious international mobile numbers. OGWs are people who help terrorists by providing them with other basic facilities like logistics, cash, shelter. Thus they work for terrorist organizations like Hizb-ul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Let us inform that the security forces had arrested a suspect named Farooq Ahmed Wani last April. This arrest took place under the action being taken before the G-20. Wani, a resident of Haigam Sopore in Baramulla, was working as a driver in a famous five star hotel. As per sources, he was associated with terror organizations in the form of OGW. Also he was in direct contact with ISI officials across the border. During interrogation, Wani has made many shocking revelations. Farooq Ahmed Wani has informed that the aim of the terrorists was to enter the hotel and target the people present there including foreigners. Just like the terrorists opened fire at the Taj Hotel during the Mumbai attack and then took people hostage.
