Controversial Advertising Case: Peace Party President Dr Ayub charged under NSA

Lucknow: Action has been taken under the National Security Act (NSA) on Dr Ayub, the head of Peace Party. Dr Ayub is imprisoned in Lucknow jail for publishing anti-constitutional advertisements in Lucknow's Urdu newspapers. It is alleged that in this advertisement, Dr Ayub wrote anti-national statements.

An FIR was lodged against him at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow. The Lucknow Police arrested Dr Ayub, President of Peace Party, on August 1 by raiding his residence in Barhalganj, Gorakhpur. In case of publishing controversial advertisements of Dr Ayub, Lucknow Police had submitted its status report to the government a day earlier. The administration on Monday approved the imposition of NSA on Dr Ayub, the president of Peace Party. NSA has been imposed on Dr Ayub on behalf of Lucknow District Magistrate Abhishek Prakash.

Dr Ayub's Peace Party had filed a petition in the Supreme Court a few days ago and demanded to make it a party in the Kashi-Mathura case. The National Security Act-1980 (NSA) is a law related to giving certain powers to the governments regarding the security of the country. This law empowers the central and state governments to detain any suspect.
