New Delhi: NITI Aayog member and Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Chancellor VK Saraswat has given an objectionable statement regarding the ban on internet in Jammu and Kashmir. Saraswat has claimed that after the abolition of Article 370, there is no significant impact on the economy due to the ban on internet in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that in Jammu and Kashmir, internet is used to watch 'dirty movies'.

Former DRDO Chief Saraswat said, "Leaders want to go to Kashmir, why do they want to go to Kashmir?" Is that the kind of movement that is being done on the streets of Delhi, they want to bring on the roads in Kashmir. And the social media, it uses it like fire. So if you don't have internet there, what is the effect? And anyway what do you see when there is internet? Is e-tailing happening there? You people do nothing except watch dirty movies there.

The members of NITI Aayog did not stop here, he further said, "Why was the Internet closed in Kashmir?" The reason is different. Kashmir has to be brought forward as a state. We know that if there are such elements in there, then those who will misuse the information. ''
