Conversion Case: UP ATS launched search campaign in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh's Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Tuesday launched a search operation at Shaheen Bagh in Delhi in connection with a conversion racket caught in Uttar Pradesh. The ATS team conducted a search here following a court order. The UP ATS team is conducting raids and search operations at several Delhi-NCR locations day in and day out on a court order.

According to reports, the UP ATS team had reached Delhi at 9 am on Tuesday. The team reached the Shaheen Bagh area on a court order. The team conducted searches in the F block here and also went to some other places and conducted searches. ATS is also said to have raided the hideouts of maulana Kaleem Siddiqui, an accused arrested in the conversion case. Kaleem Siddiqui's office has also been raided.

Some funding documents have been recovered from here to ATS. The UP ATS busted a conversion racket operating from Noida in June this year. Maulana Omar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jahangir Qasmi were arrested by the ATS in the case. Both of them are residents of the Jamia Nagar area of Delhi. According to the ATS, the racket is spread all over the country and the entire game of conversion had been going on for two years.
