Hyderabad: 180-200 kg of chicken is being sold in various parts of Telangana. At the same time, its price dropped to Rs 50 per kg. However, people refrain from eating. Earlier, in the early stages of corona virus infection, there was a huge reduction in chicken prices and after awareness among the public, the poultry industry was still able to find that bird flu had started hitting once again.

The World Health Organization has given a critical opinion on the consumption of chicken and eggs in the wake of bird flu. The H5N1 influenza virus is highly contagious in birds, also known as avian influenza, which can cause serious respiratory illness. The WHO has a clear view that eating properly cooked chicken and eggs does not spread the infection and is safe. The meat should be above 70 degrees C when cooking. In such a situation, if the chicken has the virus, it will die. Experts advise not to eat undercooked and rotten meat at all. The WHO says precautions should be taken against bird flu. Poultry products or wild bird meat should be taken only after thorough cleaning and cooked over full heat.

The WHO recommends keeping birds at home in view of bird flu. Also those working in the poultry industry need to take more precautions. If you find a dead bird lying somewhere, keep it away from it.

According to Amuman, chicken prices across the country have dropped by an average of 20% due to the risk of bird flu. Explain that the market value of broiler chicken in India is 85000 crores. The egg market is around forty thousand crores. If the recession hits the poultry industry, it will also affect the country’s GDP.

Bird flu has been found in migratory birds and cows in the northern Indian states of Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Kerala, the only state in South India, has cases of bird flu.
