Corona cases rise in UP after bus-rail resumes, administration in worry

Lucknow: After the resumption of bus and rail services in the fifth phase of the nationwide lockdown, there has been a concern after 369 new cases of corona infection were reported in Uttar Pradesh in the last 24 hours. Although recovery rate of infected patients is more than 59% in the state.

According to information received from the Health Department, so far 8729 corona infected have been identified in the state out of which 5176 patients have also recovered and 229 have died. 3324 patients are being treated in various Covid hospitals of the state. On giving information, Principal Secretary Medical and Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that the percentage of recovery from corona in the state is 59.51. He informed that a new guideline has been released by the ICMR, according to which the corona can be estimated through the ELISA test by taking blood samples in the districts. Samples have been taken in 10 districts so far.

On giving information, he said that 3324 corona cases are active in 75 districts of the state. There were 900 pool tests conducted yesterday, of which 785 pools were of 5–5 samples and 115 pools were of 10–10 samples. People are being called from the control room when Arogya Setu Alert is generated. So far, a total of 51,451 people have been called and information has been received regarding their health.
