COVID cases spike in Maharashtra, lockdown resumed in Nagpur

Nagpur: The corona epidemic has wreaked havoc not only in the country but in the whole world, in the meantime, the government has imposed a complete lockdown in Nagpur in view of the growing case of corona in Maharashtra. Nagpur's foster minister Nitin Raut announced on Thursday that there would be a complete lockdown in the district from March 15 to 21, meaning no one would be allowed to move out, only the essential goods shops would remain open.

For your information, 1710 new cases were reported in Nagpur on Wednesday. This is the record for the highest number of cases of corona in one day after 173 days. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation had said on Wednesday that new cases of corona were coming among women and persons in the age group of 20 to 40. The municipal administration had said that people are taking the corona lightly.

On the other hand, corona once again gained momentum in the country. In the last 24 hours, 22,854 new cases of corona have been reported across the country while 126 patients have died due to infection. At the same time, 18,100 people have recovered from corona in 24 hours. The total number of cases of corona infection in the country has increased to 1,12,85,561 while the number of active cases has gone up to 1,89,226. The total figure of people who died of corona in the country has increased to 1,58,189. According to the Union Ministry of Health, 1,09,38,146 people have been cured of corona infection.
