Corona outbreak in Australia amid T20 World Cup, 800 infected on a single ship

Melbourne: Corona has once again seen wreaking havoc in Australia in the middle of the T20 World Cup. For the first time, more than 8 thousand new cases have been registered in a single day. The highest number of 5,715 cases have been reported from New South Wales. According to state Health Minister Brad Hazard, 80 per cent of these patients have been found to have the Omicron variant. At the same time, 800 passengers have been found corona infected on a holiday cruise. After which the ship has been docked in Sydney city of Australia.

Australia's Interior Minister requested the public on Saturday (November 11) to follow protocols carefully after testing positive for corona on a cruise with hundreds of passengers in Sydney. Carnival Australia's Majestic Princess cruise ship has been anchored in Sydney, the capital of New South Wales, the most populous state. 800 passengers have been found corona positive on the ship. State health officials have described it as tier 3 transmission.

Australia's Home Affairs Minister Clare O'Neil has said authorities have been instructed to set protocols in view of the Covid outbreak on the ship and New South Wales Health will take the lead in determining how to evacuate passengers from the ship. Derek O'Neill told media persons in Melbourne that Federal Border Force officials would assist state officials.
