Despite strict protocol, a covid pandemic has invaded the Junior Hockey World Cup. On Friday, an individual who came in contact with the media centre at Kalinga Stadium was discovered infected. Despite media personnel who entered inside the bio bubble and tested RT-PCR every 48 hours for coverage, a person was detected infectious in a test done on Thursday.

The man is a member of the Odisha government's Sports and Youth Affairs Department's social media team, according to the local organising committee. Efforts are being undertaken to track down those who may have come into touch with them. The Indian squad had previously lost in the semi-finals to Germany. The German team advanced to the championship after defeating India 4-2 in the semifinals. In the final, he will face Argentina. The Indian squad will compete against France for third place.

Germany scored four goals in ten minutes. Eric Kleinlen (15th minute), Aaron Flaten (21st minute), captain Hans Muller (24th) and Christopher Kutar (25th minute) scored for him. For India, Uttam Singh (25th minute) and Bobby Singh Dhami (60th minute) scored 1 goal each. Germany had earlier reached the final of the 2013 World Cup in Delhi and also became the winner. He won bronze in Lucknow in 2016.
