Kolkata: PM Narendra Modi today inaugurated the second campus of Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute in Kolkata on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, PM Modi also spoke about the corona epidemic. PM Modi said that 150 crore doses of corona vaccine have been given in the country so far. He said corona is the biggest epidemic of the last 100 years.

PM Modi further said that the year has started with vaccination for children between the ages of 15 and 18. With this, 1.5 billion vaccine doses have created history in the first week of the first month of the year itself. PM Modi thanked scientists, vaccine manufacturers, people belonging to the health department for this. Today, more than 90 percent of India's adult population has received a dose of the vaccine. Within 5 days, more than 1.5 crore children have also been given vaccine supplements. This achievement belongs to the entire country, it is of every Government.

PM Modi also responded to what the Central government has done for Bengal during the crisis period of the corona epidemic. PM Modi said the government has so far provided about 11crore doses of corona vaccine free of cost to West Bengal as well. More than 1500 ventilators, more than 9,000 new oxygen cylinders have also been provided to Bengal. 49 PSA new oxygen plants have also started functioning.
