Scientists are adopting several methods to detect Covid-19 positive patients. In this series, the Indian Government has now started to train military dogs to locate patients. Caspar, Jaya and Mani have become the first 3 such military dogs in India to detect Covid positive patients from urine and sweat samples. The army is training 7 more such dogs.

According to the information received, Caspar and Jaya were being given full training. Mani is still learning. These 3 are taking training from September last year. Many countries use dogs to detect diseases like cancer, Parkinson's and diabetes. In India, this is the first time we have used dogs to detect a disease. We really see hope in it. We are getting good results.

Continuing his talk, the scientist further said that we started training these dogs in September, and now they have become experts. Within a few seconds, they can detect the infection. These dogs have been trained to sit next to a positive specimen placed in a container, and move forward if it is negative. Jaya and Casper have extracted 22 positive cases of coronavirus from 806 samples at Delhi Transit Camp and about 3,000 from Chandigarh Transit Camp. Many countries like UK, Finland, Russia, France, UAE, Germany, Lebanon have already started airports and dogs have started using coronavirus screening at railway stations.
