India's name comes in the countries with the largest population in the world. But due to corona infection, there are fewer deaths in India than in other countries. According to the data released by the Union Ministry of Health, the death rate stood at around 3.23% till May 4. Is this due to strict lockdown? Or we do not understand the data correctly.

For your information, let us tell you that out of more than 42,000 confirmed cases, 1,373 or about 3.23% people have lost their lives in India till May 4. Developed countries like America, Britain, Italy and Spain, which are testing more than India, have a much higher death rate in cases of Kovid-19.

Know how the death rate is calculated

To understand corona infection one has to understand mortality. Explain that the death rate is derived by dividing the number of deaths by the number of confirmed cases, so even if there is no increase in confirmed cases, but if the deaths increase, then the death rate will be higher. The same, if we talk about Corona testing, then some countries are actually doing much better. However, India has the lowest number of testing. Statista data show that as of May 1, the US had a test rate of 19,311 per million population, the UK (13, 286), Italy (32, 735), Spain (31, 126) and India (654).
