The number of covid infected people in the country is increasing every day. Coming to the last 24 hours, more than 3 lakh cases of covid were registered in the country. For the second consecutive day, the figure has crossed 3 lakhs. On Friday, 3,32,730 lakh cases were recorded and 2,263 people have lost their lives. Covid seems to be going berserk in several States including Maharashtra and Delhi. The bottom line is that now the hospitals are running out of essential things like beds, oxygen.

Corona continues to wreak havoc in Maharashtra: Covid continues to wreak havoc in Maharashtra. 66,836 new cases of covid were reported here in the last 24 hours. 74,045 recovered and 773 people have lost their lives. In Maharashtra, there are now 6,91,851 active cases, while the total covid cases have gone up to 41,61,676. A total of 63,252 people have lost their lives in Maharashtra so far. Mumbai alone received 7,221 new covid cases in the last 24 hours. 9,541 recovery and 72 deaths were reported.

Several leaders, including the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, have raised the issue of vaccine shortage in the state, but there is also an oxygen crisis in many districts of Maharashtra. Maharashtra is now engaged in meeting the shortage of oxygen. Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant raised the issue of remdesivir shortage in Maharashtra. He has written to Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan asking why Maharashtra is getting less than the requirement of Remdesivir Injection.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray also raised the issue of shortage of remdesivir, vaccine, and oxygen supply amid prime ministers' meeting with chief ministers of various states. It may be recalled that Maharashtra is currently the worst affected state from corona.
