Amidst the Omicron threat one of our northeastern state Arunachal Pradesh logged the highest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases this month on Thursday, with 435 persons testing positive for the virus, 85 more than the previous day, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 57,822, according to a senior health official. On Tuesday, the Northeastern state reported 404 new COVID cases.

According to the official, 138 new cases were documented in the Capital Complex Region, including 40 from West Kameng, 37 from Changlang, 35 from Namsai, 31 from Lower Dibang Valley, 28 from Lohit, 26 from Papumpare, 23 from Lower Subansiri, and 22 from East Siang. The death toll in the northeastern state remained at 282, with no new infections reported in the previous 24 hours, according to the State Surveillance Officer (SSO), who also stated that 194 more people recovered from the disease on Wednesday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the frontier state to 55,602.

397 new cases were detected using rapid antigen testing, 17 through RT-PCR, and 21 through TrueNAT techniques, with 203 of them developing COVID symptoms. Since January 4, the northeastern state has seen an increase in COVID-19 infections, with 2,470 new cases reported so far. said JampaArunachal Pradesh now has 1,938 active cases, with a recovery rate of 96.55 percent among coronavirus patients in the state.
