Corona Threat: Assam logs 2,709 new COVID-19 cases and five more deaths

The National Health Mission (NHM) has issued a report that Assam logged 2,709 new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday, down 681 from the previous day, bringing the total caseload to 6,46,735.

During the day, five people have died from the sickness, bringing the overall number of deaths to 6,206. Jorhat, Kamrup Metropolitan, Morigaon, and Nalbari districts have all reported new fatalities. On Saturday, there were 3,390 coronavirus cases reported.

The Kamrup Metropolitan, which includes Guwahati city, has the most cases in the state, with 912 infections, a tiny decline from the 919 cases reported on Saturday. Jorhat had 257 instances, Dibrugarh had 180, and Cachar had 159, among other districts.

The death toll has risen to 6,206, while the number of COVID-19 patients who have died as a result of their disease has stayed constant at 1,347. On Sunday, there were 1,223, 347 more people who had recovered from the virus than the day before.

To present, 6,19,924 COVID-19 patients in Assam have recovered. The state's active COVID-19 positive caseload now stands at 19,258, up 1,481 from Saturday. According to the NHM, 3,98,12,713 vaccination doses have been administered throughout the state. 2,28,63,421 first doses, 1,69,06,884 second doses, and 42,408 precaution doses are also included.
