Corona has affected every section of the country In view of the increasing figures of corona infected people in the same country, the vaccination drive for people above the age of 18 years will start from 1st May. Registration for the same begins on April 28. The Central Government has formulated a new policy on this new system. But the biggest threat in the midst of this policy is the States, which have been entrusted with the responsibility of vaccinating persons in the age group of 18-44 years.

Some non-BJP ruled states have said that they cannot start vaccination from May 1 due to a shortage of corona vaccine. As per the report received, the State Governments of Punjab, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand have raised questions about the availability of vaccines. Recently, Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Principal Secretary, Department of Health, Maharashtra has sent separate letters to Adar Poonawala, CEO, Serum Institute of India, and Dr. Krishna M. Ela, Cmd, Bharat Biotech International Limited. Maharashtra has demanded about 12 crore vaccines from both companies before starting the third phase of vaccination.

Also sought information from both companies about the monthly supply. Vyas also asked in the note whether the two companies have enough vaccines to supply the vaccine every month for the next six months from May 2021. The Government has sought information from both the companies on the price fixation of vaccines and other conditions. On the other hand, the Goa government has also refused to introduce third-stage vaccination. The Government of Goa cannot start vaccinating people in the age group of 18-45 years from 1st May as they have not yet received the vaccine stock sought.
