Many European countries have taken tough measures to curb the virus infection. These countries have imposed restrictions on movement from Italy. The virus has reached all 27 member states of the European Union (EU). In these countries the figure of infected people has reached beyond 22 thousand. 15,000 of these victims are in Italy alone.
According to the information received, all the Catholic churches in Rome, the capital of Italy, have been closed. So far more than a thousand people have died in this European country. At the same time, it has been learned that all the businesses, schools, colleges, cinemas, restaurants and pubs have already been closed in a country with a population of 6 crores. Due to this, all the tourist places and roads have become deserted.
It is also being said that the EU Home Ministers in a meeting on Friday, March 13, 2020, emphasized a coordinated effort to combat the coronavirus. Sweden's Home Minister Michael Demberg said, "Countries have problems at various levels. We hope that all countries will inform other European countries about the new measures they are taking. Some neighbouring countries of Italy like Austria and Slovenia have started tightening traffic on their borders. The Czech Republic and Poland are also taking similar steps. Sources say that these steps have raised questions on the supply of food items and medicines. Spain and France are more affected after Italy than in Europe.
