85,974 cases were reported in the fourth phase (Lockdown 4) of lockdown implemented due to the epidemic coronavirus (COVID-19). That is, about half of the total cases reported in the country so far came up during this period. These figures are from the lockdown which started on 18 May till 8 am on Sunday, 31 May. Data from the Union Health Ministry show that a total of 47.20% of the cases were reported during the lockdown 4.0 ending on midnight of 31 May.

According to media reports, in the first lockdown (Lockdown1.0), which came into force on 25 March, 10,877 cases were reported during the 21-day period. In the second phase (Lockdown2.0) of lockdown implemented till 15 April 3 May, 31,094 cases were reported during a period of 19 days. During the third phase Lockdown (Lockdown3.0) implemented from May 4 to May 17, 53,636 cases were reported. As of 24 March, there were 512 cases in the country.

India is at number 9 in the list of countries with the highest number of corona cases in the world. The first case in the country came to light on January 30 in Kerala. The active case in the country is 89,995 and 86,983 people have been cured. So far, about 47.75% patients have been cured.
