New Delhi: Corona cases in the country are growing at a very rapid pace, with corona explosions being seen everywhere. In the meantime, alarming figures are coming out. In many states, cases of corona infection have tripled in the last one week even after a series of strict restrictions including a night curfew. More than 33,000 new cases of corona infection have been registered in the last 24 hours alone. Experts say there is a strong apprehension that the third wave has arrived.

In fact, corona infection cases have increased rapidly in the country in the last week. Cases are continuously increasing every day. The country's major cities on Saturday and Sunday have seen a terrible corona speed. At the same time, cases of new corona variant Omicron have also started gaining momentum. Coming to the entire country, the number of cases of Omicron has crossed 1,525. Maharashtra also has the highest number of cases.

According to a report, about 1.3 lakh new cases have been registered from December 27 to January 2. This is the highest during the last 12 weeks. Not only that, it was the fastest weekly surge in infections since the outbreak of the epidemic in the country. The last highest increase was recorded at 71 per cent during the second wave from 5th to 11th April 2021. Last week, 46,073 corona cases were reported in the country. This was the lowest number of cases since mid-May 2020.
