The Cannes Film Festival, one of the world's largest film festivals, has been postponed due to the ever-increasing infection of the coronavirus. Please tell that the 73rd Cannes Film Festival was to be held this time between 12 to 23 May. However, due to the fast-growing infection of the coronavirus worldwide, its date has been put forward by the organizers.
Organizers are now considering organizing this French Riviera festival somewhere between the end of June or the beginning of July. In a tweet made on March 19 from the official Twitter handle of the Cannes Film Festival, the Cannes Film Festival will not be held between May 12 and 23, in view of the health crisis and conditions prevailing in France and around the world.
Due to the health crisis and the development of the French and international situation, the Festival de Cannes will no longer be able to take place on the dates planned, from May 12 to 23. More info #Cannes2020 https://t.co/peLmfw0gQW pic.twitter.com/SVWPasvU23

In this statement issued, the officials of Cannes have said that to save the festival, all kinds of projections have been studied, but the one which is most suitable is the easiest. It should be carried forward. As soon as French and international health conditions will allow us to move forward in this matter, we will issue our decision to all. Organizers are not very happy to extend the date of this festival. Organizers were working on the selection process of this program for the last several weeks. Although this is an epidemic situation for France and the world, it was the moral responsibility of the organizers to take care of everyone's health. Let us know that films and short films from all over the world take part in this festival. Will have to see when the next date is announced.
