Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashok on Wednesday hinted that the process of unlocking may start in four to five phases after June 14 in the state. The imposed lockdown to prevent corona virus in the state has come to an end. In view of the number of deaths and new cases, lockdown will not be relaxed at once. Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Health Minister K Sudhakar and Revenue Minister R Ashok have held detailed talks with the CM in this regard.
Revenue Minister R Ashok said the lockdown will be relaxed in phases, which can be done in four to five phases. The first time will be, now the discount between 6 am and 10 am can be extended, even those who walk in the plains may get some relief. All this will be reported after the CM's last decision.
CM BS Yediyurappa is likely to convene a meeting of ministers, officials and experts in a day or two and discuss the same. The State Technical Advisory Committee consisting of experts has also recommended opening of Ahista-Ahista activities in the state. The number of new cases daily in Bengaluru is still in the range of 2,000. Revenue Minister R Ashok said that the number of these patients needs to come down to below 500. He said the increase in infected cases due to unlocking has to be kept in mind.
