New Delhi: 38,949 new corona cases have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. 542 persons lost their lives due to corona infection. There were 40,026 recoveries, followed by the total number of corona-beatings to 3,01,83,876. According to data released by the Health Ministry, the total corona cases have now increased to 3,10,26,829.

The Health Ministry said the recovery rate in the country has increased to 97.28 percent and the daily weekly rate is 1.99 percent. The daily weekly rate is less than 3 percent for 25 consecutive days. 38,78,078 coronavirus vaccines were administered in the country in the last 24 hours, followed by the total immunization figure of 39,53,43,767. Earlier on Thursday, 41,806 more people were found infected with coronavirus, the total number of infection cases had increased to 3,09,87,880, while the number of active patients had increased to 4,32,041.

According to union health ministry data, the death toll due to 581 more lives lost due to infection had gone up to 4,11,989. The country is yet to come out of the second wave of corona completely that there is now fear among the people about the third wave. However, the State Governments are constantly gearing up to control it. Several reports have also claimed that the third wave of corona could overtake children.
