Hyderabad: More than half of the students of Class XI in Telangana have not performed brilliantly in the examination. Only 49 per cent of the students could pass the examination conducted by Telangana state board of intermediate education (TSBIE) between October 25 and November 3. While 51 per cent of the children failed due to non-performance. Though private school students have better access to the internet and digital devices, these children have performed better than in government schools.

Many children failed in all subjects in these schools called junior colleges in rural areas. The bad performance of 51 percent of the children has added to the problem of the Telangana higher education department. In view of the poor results, the Education Department is now reviewing the effectiveness of its online classes. The results of class XI were declared on Thursday. All these students are now in class XII. The final exams could not be conducted after the corona epidemic hit them in April. Due to which the children were promoted to the next class without final examination.

The students who have failed will have to pass the final examination of Class XII to be held in the second year or next year as well as the subjects which they could not pass. However, the Students' Federation of India is protesting against it. The federation says students should not pay the price for the reduction in effective teaching due to online classes. TSBIE Secretary Syed Omar Jalil said he will review the online class studies.
