New Delhi: Corona (COVID-19) cases are expected to peak in Delhi in the next two days amid the third wave of corona epidemic. More than 19,000 new cases were registered in the capital on Monday, slightly lower than Sunday's 22,751. Talking to media on Tuesday, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said that corona cases are certainly expected to reach its peak in the capital this week and cases may start declining after that.

Asked whether the Delhi government would reconsider the weekend curfew, Satyendra Jain said the peak had already arrived, or would come in a day or two. This peak will definitely come this week. Thereafter, cases should start coming down, but it is possible that we can impose another curfew, only to remind people not to neglect their security measures.

Satyendra Jain further said that every fourth person who conducts corona test in Delhi is coming to Covid-19 positive. At the same time, 17 deaths have also been registered in the city. The positivity rate was 25 per cent on Monday, the highest since May 5 last year.
