Corona cases rise amid 'Omicron' threat, 7145 cases reported in 24 hours

New Delhi: 7,145 new cases of corona infection have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. While 289 patients died in the last 24 hours. The Union Health Ministry said that the active patients of corona infection in the country have now come down to 84,500. The Ministry has informed that 8,706 corona patients have also recovered from corona across the country in the last 24 hours, followed by corona recovery to 3,41,71,471 so far.

So far 4,77,158 patients have died of an infection in the same country. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reported that 12,45,402 samples were tested for corona infection in India on Friday, after which the number of sample testing in the country has now gone up to 66,28,97,388. There are currently 84,565 active patients with corona infection in India, which is 0.24 per cent of the total cases. This is the lowest number of active cases since March 2020.

The ministry said that the number of active patients in the country has registered a decline of 1850 in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate is 0.57 per cent, down from 2 per cent for the past 75 days. While the weekly positivity rate is 0.62 percent, which has remained below 1 percent from 34 days. The recovery rate in the country is now 98.38 percent. The Health Ministry said that 136.66 crore corona vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far. According to the data, more than 62,06,244 million patients across the country were given vaccine doses on Friday.
