There have been 103 Corona positive cases in Arthur Jail. It has 77 prisoners and 26 prison staff. According to the information received, the prisoners have been admitted to GT Hospital and St. George's Hospital on Friday morning. The staff of the jail have received the news of reaching the hospital separately. Arthur Road Jail is the oldest jail in Mumbai and it is right in front of Kasturba Hospital.
Kasturba Hospital has been made the nodal hospital of Covid-19 in Mumbai and the jail currently has 2 thousand undertrial prisoners, although its capacity is only 800 inmates. Not only this, but there is also a problem of mutual distance between the prisoners in the jail because more prisoners are closed here. Rana Kapoor, the founder of Yes Bank and the accused in this case, is also lodged in Arthur Road Jail. Tests of more than 200 people have been taken in the jail so far, in which 103 people have come positive.
