New Delhi: If a person who is suffering from dengue hit by the corona virus, then his report will not be correct. Because Corona virus screening cannot be done correctly with dengue. Antibodies to both dengue and corona have mixed effects on the test, which increases the likelihood of false positive (false infection) reports. At the same time, doctors and experts of CSIR's Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, IPJMER, Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital have done several tests on antibodies to dengue and corona. Meanwhile, in 2017, when he tested both antibodies of dengue patients and antibodies to corona, he found that five out of 13 samples have given incorrect reports.
It means to say that despite being not having corona, its reports came out positive. In this changing season, mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chikungunya engulf thousands of people every year. Experts have advised that caution is required regarding these diseases during the Corona period. During a sero survey or antibody test, it should be asked whether the person had dengue before. If he was suffering from dengue earlier then his antigen test is necessary.
During research, corona's antibodies IGG and IGM were tested on dengue antibodies, false positive results were found even after using two different types of kits. Dr. Keya Basu of the Pathology Department of Kolkata-based IPGMER has informed that in addition to RT-PCR and antigens, antibodies tests are being focused to detect the spread of covid-19 in the country, but also antibodies of dengue in a person It is very difficult to detect corona. There are some antigenic similarities between these two, which cannot be ignored.
