450 crore rupees reached in villages through MNREGA amid Corona crisis

Dehradun: In this time of Corona, the work of supporting the rural economy of the state has also been done through MNREGA. In the last four months only about 450 crore rupees have been spent in rural areas. Out of this, around 225 crore rupees have been paid. The support received from MNREGA in the same corona crisis can also be understood in another way. This time the budget of MNREGA in the state is about 700 crores.

After the same COVID-19 transition, work was started under lock-in from 22 April under MNREGA. In the last four months only about 450 crore rupees have been spent. The same MNREGA has also supported the workers in the Corona crisis. Till 3 September, more than one lakh new registrations in the state were done under this strategy. According to MNREGA nodal officer Mohammad Aslam, 99 percent of it is labor. Out of this, there are about 83 thousand such people, who somehow got wages by working in MNREGA.

Also, a total of 6.75 lakh persons have been given work under this strategy so far. The maximum work was done in Tehri, where 1.15 lakh persons took profit of this scheme. Pauri is at number two, where about 85 thousand people worked under MNREGA. These people worked for 10 days to 15 days. In total, about 225 crore rupees were spent on wages under MNREGA. With this, the workers have been provided financially considerable support.
