Dehradun: The government turned down the demand for seven days of lockdown in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19 of Uttarakhand Secretariat Association. The delegation received from the Chief Secretary under the leadership of Union General Secretary Rakesh Joshi included Direct Recruitment Association General Secretary Vyomkesh Dubey and Secretariat Review Officer Rajendra Prasad Raturi, Vice President of the Association. During the discussion, the Chief Secretary refused to close the secretariat for seven days. In view of the increasing cases of COVID-19 in the Secretariat, he assured to limit the employees as a precaution.

The committee expressed concern that a large number of nodal officers have been appointed for the assembly session. But seeing the growing crisis of COVID-19, their number should also be limited. On this, the Chief Secretary assured that correspondence will be done with the Assembly Secretary in this regard. According to the delegation, he said that it would be the effort to create a cell in the assembly, which would ensure that reports of the nodal officers are received through WhatsApp or email. Safety rules will also be taken care of.
